How does Wilson’s scar one’s face? I was reading the wikipedia article and it didn’t seem to mention anything about that. I googled a bit and all I could find was “face of the giant panda” which apparently refers to brain patterns that appear in an MRI scan.
And here I always thought it was a made-up plot contrivance on House MD!
I think the joke is that on the TV show Home Improvement the neighbor (Wilson) never showed his full face. They always found a way to obscure part of it - usually because there was a fence between Tim and Wilson but in later episodes they found all kinds of wacky ways to do it.
As Khadaji said, I was making a Home Improvement joke.

Not really. If it affects the heart, Wilson’s does so in a subtle, usually asymptomatic way. It may lead to abnormal heart rhythms (if untreated) but those pale in comparison to its major effects on the liver and brain (again, if untreated).
