Anyone fill in the XKCD survey?

I’m thinking that “random” loses its meaning as soon as the meta-qualifier “How can I f*** with this survey?” gets added as a filter.

Me too. :smack:

No quotation marks.

Katharine Hepburn.

I’m intrigued to see what gets done with the data.

I filled it in

JLaw, no quotes on cat. I really tried to type five random words, but I think my subconscious got the best of me: the first was “jump” and the second was “street”. I don’t remember #3 and #4, but #5 was “crag”. 40 was my first random number; “forty” was the word I always misspell.

When I typed random stuff, my work keyboard wasn’t as responsive as I desired. So, I just held down a bunch of keys. To my surprise, the keyboard started repeating all the letters I held down sequentially, instead of just the one it thought I typed last. For example, here’s what comes out while pounding the home keys now:

I’ve never seen this before. I’m using a Dell SK-8115, if anyone cares.

I typed random words that popped into my head - I think one of them was “pillar” and one of them was “fart”.

correct horse battery staple naturally

Also, James Franco and “cat” with the quotes.

It was kind of fun.

Sean Connery

I actually did think of doing that. Apparently I do have some self control after all.

I suspect that is really what’s being tested.

If 42 doesn’t end up one of the most popular “random” numbers, I’ll eat my hat.

My random numbers were pi and e. Or rather, because the interface wouldn’t accept letters, 3.14159265358979323846 and 2.718281828 (those being how far I’ve memorized on both).

Geebus. I did exactly the same.

Now I’m worried. Somehow, I correlate with Chronos.

ETA: Grats, you have pi to three digits further than me. I concede the geek card on that subject.

I put “cat”.

One of my random words was “lackadaisical”.

The five animals was strange. The first animal to pop into my head was otter, and I have no freakin’ idea why.

Typed “cat”, because that is a correct way to use quotes. Otherwise, nothing very clever. Except that for the movie star, I listed the Veil Nebula from Dark Star. Okay, it’s not really a star, but I was trying to think of an actual star that was important to a movie.

While randomly pressing keys, I spelled out “fap”. Ironic, that.

You’re closer than most, but it was her Whales of August co-star, Bette Davis.

That’s two of us then because I also put Cary Grant.

And “cat”.

I typed cat and then considered adding the quotes, but I didn’t because I thought it’d look like I was too literal.

I thought Tom Cruise too, but for some reason I typed Tom Hanks (I left it that way)

I’m going to reword it slightly (five to four) but “type four random words” is going to be a question on the next test I write

Of course the Internet is in Arizona; I thought of AZ

My two numbers were 37 and then 73 - is that weird?

Necessary. I think I typed that right this time.

I can’t wait to see the results.

I’m surprised so many chose Jennifer Lawrence. That was my choice as well. I thought about changing my answer to George Clooney, but hell, I like Jennifer. I discovered her before she was famous and feel a bit protective of her.

cat

Location of the internet: Hell

Aardvarks were on my list, probably because of their position in the dictionary. They weren’t first, though–that went to cats, so my internal alphabetization must be incomplete.

The only right answer being, of course, “cat or poisoned cat, we can’t know”.
