Mine, “30,000 Years of Art” has a shipping weight of 12.8 pounds. It hefts a lot heavier.
Before I unwrapped this unusual gift, I thought it was a big box of ammo for my pellet gun.
In case you’re curious, it’s at…
30,000 Years of Art: The Story of Human Creativity Across Time and Space [Becker, Marshall, Blair, Sheila S., Branfoot, Crispin, Dr Andrew Fitzpatrick] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. 30,000 Years of Art: The Story of Human...
BTW, I’m not such a huge art buff to qualify for a present like this, although my daughter seems to think so. But I do like this book!
Very cool, though I didn’t get a book that heavy, I did get the 50th anniversary leather bound Lord of the Rings weighing in at just over 5 pounds…

Looks like you’re the winner - in more ways than one. C&H is my all-time favorite comic strip.
I hope you get years and years of enjoyment from it.
I wonder how much a Gutenberg Bible weighs.

Unless we choose to get picky about an ‘only one book’ rule, excluding box sets, in which case the winner is… [del]Labdad[/del]… no, that’s a set of 2, as well. Guess it’s the OP!
I got the hardback edition of Brewer’s Dictionary of Phrase and Fable. I’d guess it’s about 2 kilos. Certainly much less than than book in the OP.

Yeah, I think the box set is kind of a cheat. I’d say BarnOwl is the winner.
And you can get a ‘replica’ Gutenberg Bible on Ebay that is 17.6 lbs.
