I know that I will get it within a few months but once they kicked Ghost Recon 3 out to Feb I don’t feel any need to go get this system on launch day.

I love my Xbox. It’ s my favorite current gen system by far (and I have all 3, as well as PC, DS, and PSP. Im a nerd) . I expect some sweet games to come out on the 360 but none of the launch games look like anything that needs to be on a next gen system.
It seems that a LOT of people who preordered won’t be getting their systems at the end of this month. Apparently there is a shortage.
Also if you don’t get it at Target or Walmart (who don’t allow preorders), you probably won’t be able to buy it if you walk in until sometime early next year (worst case scenario being April!!)
I’d love a “Premium” system (real gamers pretend the “core” system doesn’t exist), but my gaming fund can’t justify the purchase at the moment. None of the launch titles are calling my name. We’ll see in a few months when some better games start coming out whether anything interests me.
I’m waiting. I just read that the PS3 is going to be in the same price range as the 360, although to be honest, I’m most anticipating the Revolution. Besides, I made the mistake of getting a PSP opening day and I’m still waiting for a must-buy game to come out.
Well - mr. skittles TRIED to get one. He camped all night at T*rget…and he was #11 in line. They had 15 of each system. He wanted the Premium one. He got his ticket number at 6am and came home for a few hours. He went back to pick it up at 10am because he had until noon to get it…AND THEY ACCIDENTALLY SOLD IT!!!
What happened is they gave a Core person a Premium system by mistake.
So in order to adjust their mistake they are going to sell him the Premium system at the Core price and throw in a game for free once they get their next shipment of them.
Now, that is all fine and dandy - but the problem lies in that they have no idea when the next shipment will be coming in.
So he stayed out all night, in the rain, with no sleep - while I stayed home alone all night with our 21 day old child…and he still doesn’t have the system. And he could have to wait until the new year to get it anyway!
I have one shipping to me. I picked the “gamer bundle” option, so I’ll have Quake 4 and Perfect Dark Zero. Although I must admit the launch lineup is a little thin, so I’ll be subsisting on a few Xbox titles for a while.
Next up: convincing **Dangerosa **that we need an HDTV. :eek:
I have no idea what all my brother just said to me, but apparently, he got the premium package this morning and the play-by-charge (or something like that) kit for the Xbox a few days ago. He saw this thread over my shoulder and made me post about it for him…BTW, he adds that he got Perfect Dark Zero Limited Edition for the Xbox 360.
My office got one and we all got to play with it all day yesterday. Made my heart proud, it did, when everyone told me that the special effects I was producing for our PSP game were better than Call of Duty had on the XBox.
