Anyone have a Fiio music player?

I’m looking to replace my iPod and its 80 gig memory.

I’m thinking a Fiio x1 or x5 (the x3 just doesn’t have enough capacity). The x1 supposedly sounds significantly better than the X1, and promises support for minisd cards for up to a terrabyte or more of data. But it costs 3 times what the x1 costs.

Even the x1, according to the reviews I’ve seen, sounds better than an iPod. Its can handle a 128mb memory card, and costs only $99 (making it cheaper than the high cap memory card).

Really, I’m pretty sold on the x1 because it seems to be an incredible bargain.

Anyone want to try upselling me?

FYI, my other best choice seems to be an iBasso DX50, so if anyone has a comment on iBasso, I’d like to hear it.

Since this is a hardware question, moved Cafe Society -->IMHO.

The only thing I’ll point out is, to get most of that higher quality of sound, you need to use higher quality files, which will take up more space on the device. So if you want to take advantage of the higher quality, even 128GB card will probably hold less HQ music than your iPod holds LQ music.

On the other hand, if you’ve found your iPod’s quality to be sufficient before, the system will sound a little better, even with your lower quality files–if you get some decent headphones to go with it.
