I’m a big fan of all of these.
My mom makes a hummus platter that’s very simple. Basically a bunch of hummus on a plate with feta and diced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and kalamata olives. Top with some olive oil and za’atar seasoning if you want, and serve with pita (chips) and crudite.
Falafels? Onion bhajis?
Now, here’s an interesting thought - you can make oven-bake versions of these, which saves a whole hell of a lot of hassle and offers a healthier version than deep frying.
Here’s the bhaji recipe I use. My notes say to increase all spices by 50%. You could serve these with a raita, which is dead easy to knock out.
This is an updated version of the falafel recipe I printed off many years ago. I added some plain flour to this to bind the falafels better. Nice with some salad.

How about classic bruschetta. Simple but tasty.
