So I just bought a vintage RCA Selectavision player on eBay. This is a video player which plays grooved vinyl LPs - it was released to compete with the Laserdisc player but never caught on. I see it as a piece of A/V history and a cool collector’s item. Mostly I thought it would be cool to show people who come over. So I bought it, and I got three movies for it also: The Boogey Man, The Dead Zone and Saturn 3 (which has the distinction of having been nominated for a Razzie award for worst acting by Kirk Douglas.) I’m particularly looking forward to Dead Zone since I love David Cronenberg’s movies.
Does anyone else have a CED player? Anyone used to have one? Any old discs you want to send me for free?
