Anyone Have Experience With Auto Dialers?

I work at a college and one of the least pleasant tasks is phoning students who have not logged into their online classes. About 90% are voice mails and all I need to do is ask them to read their email or give me a call. However, when I have 30 or more students to contact, this is a bitch to do…plus I have to listen to those damned music interludes (some crappy hip hop shit) for about 90 seconds before I get their voice mail. Very few actually answer their phones…almost none, to be exact.

I see there is “freeware” auto dialers and then there is some software you can buy for not all that much - I think the school might spring for it.

What I need is an auto dialer where I can cut and paste students’ numbers and have my generic verbal message dialed and sent to them automatically.

Anyone have any experience using them?
Any suggestions for good/bad software - and of course, FREE would be great, but I think I could get the school to pay a few bucks.

Why not text a message enmass that says “call me with a reason why you’re not online or fail the class”.

I already do this, once or twice a week.
The problem is, students don’t go onto their school webmail, and I am required to make notations that I have made every effort to contact them. Thus, when they don’t answer the email, I have to then call every one of them. That is why I need an autodialer.

So, anyone have any suggestions about auto dialers?

I suggest you find out if their use is legal in the area where you work.

It is legal, as we are not “cold calling” anyone - just trying to contact students who, to be quite honest, are probably ignoring my calls as they know they are not doing well in class. However, I am obliged to email and CALL each one.

So, anyone have any information on the software?
