Anyone have found memories of the 90s Outer Limits?

In a weird twist, my memories turned out to be fond.

I loved it IN the 90s, but not too long ago the whole series was free on Hulu so I rewatched a few seasons and it didn’t hold up well.

Some of it was the whole Technology Marches On thing. Some of it was excessive 90s fashion (pale white women with dark lipstick, baby doll dresses, and boots). The effects are very hit or miss… mostly miss. Some of the episodes just sucked with bad writing and/or acting. But a few still were good.

I always like the Jon Cryer one, where he goes out for cigarettes and disappears for 10 years.

Loved it, and I’m not ashamed to admit it!

I think my fave was the “teleport” episode one. It’s the one with the teleport machine that would beam you off to distant worlds. And the whole teleport facility was ran by alien dinosaurs.

That episode should be mandatory viewing for anyone who wants to start or participate in a “Would you use a Star Trek transporter?” thread…

IIRC correctly the process was called “balancing the equation”; I enjoyed it too.

…There were some episodes I did NOT like. Fer example, most of the episodes made as sequels to other episodes stunk. The sequel to the android episode mentioned in the op was terrible.

I was not a fan of the clip shows where they tried to tie a bunch of episodes from the past season into a coherent plot. Then again clip shows are usually crap.

Is that the show that had this episode:

A computer programmer is woken up in the future, where society can remove tumors by reaching into a body, and other people can use telepathy to travel the stars, and they woke him up because there was a meteor heading toward Earth so they revived him because he knew how to program a planetary defense laser (or something), and they had abandoned that barbaric technology because of the wars that destroyed society.

Turns out Just as he’s programmed it to fire, the meteor changes direction. They were making him think it was a meteor, but in fact it was a returning ship with ancestors of people from his own time, and they wanted it destroyed because they didn’t want those warring people returning. It blows up, and then they use telepathy to have him travel the stars some more, which he was fine with.

That was an 80s Twilight Zone episode.

My favorite was the one where a planetary expedition looking to extract valuable minerals finds humanoid alien life with weapons. They defeat the aliens and remark about how it is the way of the universe that advanced life forms will conquer the weaker ones. Turns out that the aliens they encountered were children out on a boy scout-type camping trip.

The “adults” found out, wiped out the whole crew, tapped into the ship’s computer and found the location of Earth…fade to black with the alien ships closing in on Earth, ready to wipe out the weaker life forms…
