Anyone have some good "first reaction" videos? (first reaction to hearing a piece of music .)

A while back I was introduced to the singing of Dimash Kudaibergen, considered by some as possibly the best singer in the world. After listening to him and being blown away, I started to watch opera singers and professional vocal coaches reacting upon hearing/seeing him for the first time.

I’ve been enjoying listening to various vocal coaches reacting to videos. This one is very informative, and she is reacting to Song of Women by The Hu, featuring Lzzy Hale.

Thank you River_Hippie for some Robin Trower. One of the greatest and seldom mentioned rock and roll/blues guitarist. He will always be in my top ten list of the best.

“Too Rolling Stoned” is from the Bridge of Sighs album. One of those rare albums without a single song worth skipping.

Here is Lady Love from the same great album.

MORE COWBELL!!

I watch a lot of reaction videos; I enjoy seeing people as they encounter fantastic music (or anything, really) for the first time. Since it is problematic to bring hundreds of people into my home to play music for them, I’ve taken to watching videos on YouTube.

Jinjer is a band. A metal band. From Ukraine. A metal band from Ukraine with a female vocalist. And reaction videos to one of their songs, Pisces, is its own cottage industry on YouTube.

Now, if you haven’t heard this song or seen the video, I recommend you do so before watching the reaction videos (and you may want to go ahead and roll a camera on yourself, to be honest): Jinjer - Pisces (Live Session)

Here’s my favorite reaction; this vocal coach is one of my three favorites that does videos on YouTube and her reaction is priceless.

Jamel went there:

So did the Lost In Vegas guys:

I’ve watched a few reaction videos to Disturbed’s cover of Sound of Silence, which is IMHO a better version than the Simon & Garfunkel original (which is saying a lot because the original is one of my favorite songs of all time). For some reason there are a huge number of reaction videos to this song. Some of my favorites:

This one is by a vocal coach who does a detailed analysis of his singing.

This one is by an opera singer.

I like this one because of the intense emotional reaction of the viewer (either that or she’s an excellent actress).

Whoa. I don’t want to watch the reactions because I never want to hear that song again. :scream: (Ok, maybe I’ll watch to just to the first change.)

ScribeCash is good. She’s a professional singer herself so some of her reaction videos discuss technical issues other reactors don’t.

Yes Glamor did a ton of them a few years ago:

I know someone upthread mentioned the React channel. There’s some good ones on there.
This one really messed with me. Having never heard Greta Van Fleet before this video was posted, I was honestly assuming some of these songs were Led Zeppelin songs that I had some how managed to have never heard.

Sorry, I haven’t tended this thread very well. I hope to get caught up soon. Thanks for the replies.

The closest thing I’ve seen to a negative review was some kid who thought You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling was “aight, I guess.” Since I’ve watched a gazillion reaction videos and there are a billion for this song alone, I can’t find this particular one. He was very unimpressed.

His reaction to Meat Loaf’s Paradise by the Dashboard Light is really fun, too.

I like the British vocal coach Rebecca. Here she is reacting to Geoff Tate and Queensryche.

The kids at 3 Years Apart are a 16 year old girl and her 13 year old brother, and they can actually offer some insight that an older listener may not pick up on.

Andy and Alex reviewing The Chain by Fleetwood Mac. This song is in my Top Ten of all time, and they love it.

I liked this one of a pre-fame Maggie Rogers playing Alaska for Pharrell Williams as part of a Masterclass at NYU:

Liked that, Thanks!

One afternoon, I had nothing to do and no one to do it with. Scrolling through YouTube, I happened across the Lost in Vegas guys reviewing Roundabout by Yes. What the heck, I thought, might be worth a look. Long story short, if they’re BS-ing they deserve some kind of acting award; they really seemed to be enjoying the tune and appreciating everything about it. Seemed genuine to me. It shamed me a bit to admit that if I was there on camera and they offered a rap song for me to critique, I couldn’t do it. I admired them for that.

Already watched “Kids react to…”?
There are many videos, all of them are exhilarating. One example linked here: KIDS REACT TO QUEEN - YouTube

I do like watching reaction videos. Here are a couple of young men, twin brothers, who were probably born about the same time that Freddie Mercury died. They’ve never heard “Somebody To Love” before, and here they watch the epic Montreal live 1981 performance of this song for the first time.

Queen Live Montreal 1981

According to her latest post, she’s had COVID.

Another one of my favorite reactors, Ashleigh Burton, has also had Covid.

I just started watching her channel the other day, but hadn’t seen anything with her saying that. I hope she gets better soon.
