Anyone interested in Yahoo NASCAR this year?

For the past several years, there has been a Yahoo Fantasy NASCAR league for the SDMB (and anyone else who wants to join). The Daytona 500 is a little over a week away and it looks like a league hasn’t been started yet, so if there’s any interest, I’ll set one up this weekend and post the sign-in details here.

I’m interested, lets go racing!

Okey-dokey then. I’ll let you know when it’s up.

I probably should have added NASCAR to my thread title to make it easier to serch, now that I think of it. Sorry about that.

OK, A Sheep at the Wheel is back, baby!

Fear me.

Because, you know, I’m a sheep. At the wheel.

I’m in as JPL_Racing_Inc.

Good preview of the season last night with the Unlimited.

Even had the first argument, the more it changes, the more it stays the same.

I took last year off (we have a new baby), but I’m back in and ready to race! Watch your rearview for Blitzkrieg Bob.

Wait, no, I mean in front of you, not in your rearview.

No Kurt Busch this weekend.

As per Jayski’s

Per Yahoo:

That appeal will be heard at 7:30 tonight. If this, too, is denied, Busch plans to double secret appeal.

Not a good weekend if your name is Busch:

NASCAR really needs to make this sport safer.

I submit that they have. Granted, SAFER barriers are needed on all walls, but the fact that Kyle is alert and awake with a leg injury is a significant improvement over the outcome of a less violent looking crash 14 years ago.

Kyle Busch suffered a compound fracture of his lower right leg and a broken left foot. He’s undergoing surgery on his right leg tonight and is out indefinitely. Matt Crafton will drive the number 18 Crispy M&Ms Toyota Camry in the 500.

Daytona International Speedway is placing tire barriers against all track facing walls that do not have Safer Barriers in place for tomorrow’s race. They will have Safer Barriers in place on all track facing walls by next year’s 500.

This will be the first Daytona 500 that I can remember without a Busch driving (cue Danica jokes–I kid, I kid!).

Agreed. That was an (estimated) 90 mph head-on impact with a concrete wall. Without all the recent improvements to car structure and restraining devices, that would have been pretty much guaranteed fatality.

It was denied.

Do you think after today the folks at NASCAR HQ are tired of hearing the “Busch” name?
