Once upon a time I HAD a commodore 64 and I am having major problems with launching a program. Many of the games I remember were pretty autolaunching or would launch from a run command but everything I have tried so far is best case clearing the screen and giving me a ready prompt…AAAARRGHH!
Anybody have any ideas on maybe a SYS location or something that might launch the program
I’m not at the comp I have these on but I recall using an emulator called win64 to some success. There are a few other emulators out there that do well also. The thing with any emulators is there will always be idiosyncrasies between the software ROMs and the hardware the emu is running on. In short get a few different emu’s and use the one that works at the moment.
Runs off to play some crush, crumble and chomp.
As I referred to before, from my experience not all emulators will play all ROMs on all systems. I’m pretty sure that not all emulators will play every ROM even without regard to the system it’s on. If you can’t get the ROM you want to play on the emulator you have, go to goggle and find another emulator, or two.
Check in the tools/preferences menu for the 1541 emulation. Some autoloaders want to execute custom code in the floppy processor and fail if it isn’t enabled (assuming you run a .d64 disk image).
