Was a huge fan of Firefox, but now out of the blue everytime I try and download something it crashes, literally. Checked for updates, reinstalled, etc. and no luck. Am now trying to “import” my bookmarks from Firefox back to IE after like a year of living well with same, but can’t seem to find folder they are kept in, anyone have an idea how or if I can do so? Better yet, anyone having a similar problem with Firefox so that I might easily correct?
You can export them very easily from the bookmark manager. I am not sure if IE will be able to read raw Firefox files.

Since the bookmark question’s anwered already…
What are the "etc."s you’ve tried? Did you try deleting your Firefox profile? It’s located in %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles (you could temporarily move your profile to someplace else instead of deleting it outright if you want to just test the fix).
If that doesn’t work, are you using any Firefox extensions?
What exactly happens when it crashes? Is there an error message of any sort?
FF and IE save bookmarks/favorites as HLML files. You should be able to export/import them both ways with no problem. Bookmark Backup is a great extension for this, it backs up to your profile or a user selected folder everytime you close FF.
The path should be C/Documents and Settings/Owner? (might not be owner for you)/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles (now’s when it gets confusing)/a string of characters/then the actual name you gave the profile.
What version did you start with?
The update to ver1.5 can corrupt the user profile!
The update to ver1.5.1 from 1.5 shouldn’t.
Are you running any download extensions?
Did you try creating a new user profile and seeing if you still have the download problem?
To expand on this, IE uses a bunch of little files for each Favorite, while Firefox has them all in a single “bookmarks.html” file.
You can have IE import your Firefox bookmarks by opening IE and going File>Import and Export>Next>Import Favorites>browsing to the bookmarks.html file.
