Anyone know where I can find a pattern for a Jedi Knight costume?

Jim and I are going to dress as Jedi Knights for Halloween this year, and I’m looking for a pattern to help me with sewing the tunics, and making the belts and accessories and stuff. Anybody know of any sites where I can look at patterns for Jedi costumes (public domain, of course)? Or perhaps some pattern book or something? (Keeping in mind that I’m in Calgary and probably don’t have access to the same sewing and book places that y’all have.) Thanks in advance for all your gracious assistance.

This is all I could really find. This will be a good start for you I think.

Googl’ed link

Oh, and you know we’ll be wanting photos too!

Sanscour, that link isn’t working for me. Rabid_Squirrel, thanks for the link. I’m getting some good ideas from there. This may be more difficult than I anticipated.

Try this, if it doesn’t work do the cut and paste, because the edit command hates me and I’d just not assume spam your thread into oblivion. It does have some good stuff. Dunno wtf I did wrong on the last one. Jedi of SDMB linkage, I am not.

Ooh, that site is great, Sanscour. Thanks a bunch. (Jedi of sewing, I am not.:D)

Ummm…any fabric store near you will have patterns by Simplicity for their Haloween collection that, while not officially sanctioned by Lucasfilm, are pretty darn good knock-offs of the latest Jedi fashions. And they’re probably cheaper and easier than launching a great internet hunt across all the fansites.

When it comes time to make your costume, do me a favor (as one who has seen too many shiny polyester Jedi wandering around looking like dorks at conventions): Use natural fibers. Linen. Gabardine. Thick, natural weaves with texture. No synthetics. No broadcloth. Nothing shiny. Please.

Go with the Padawan’s Guide-that is one of the best sites out there.

Also try Costuming and Props over at theforce.net’s Jedi Council Boards.
