Anyone planning to play SWTOR (Star Wars MMO)

I have a few friends that are trying to talk me into playing when it comes out late next month and was wondering if anyone here is planning to play or anticipating the release. I’ve done some cursory reading on the game off and on for the last 6 months or so, and it looks pretty cool. The classes seem interesting, the companion system is really cool looking, the crafting system seems almost like cheating, you can get and customize space ships and do space battles, etc.

But…it’s another MMO. I’m really burned out on MMOs these days, since they all seem to be about that leveling treadmill. I’m really enjoying Skyrim, and anticipating DLCs and mods for that. So, 'dopers who plan to play, what’s got you excited, and why should folks give this a try? What about it differentiates it from previous MMOs…or is is the same thing, WOW in space?

There’s another thread (look for “SWTOR Doper Guild”). There’s some feedback from various folks who have played the beta, and we’ve also pre-formed a small guild of Dopers.

Some folks were underwhelmed by the beta experience but I played it all this past weekend and I’m stoked for the launch; I thought it was really fun.
