Anyone play Go?

I think it is also called stones but I can’t be sure.

I have seen people playing it, although I have never watched a game, and would like to learn it. Is there somewhere online I can learn? Anyone play and care to offer tips and strategies? Anyone have it as a program and wants to humiliate a fellow doper via the internet?

For some reason I have decided that it is important that I learn this game. Please help.

Several years ago, I decided that I, too, wanted to learn how to play Go, and spent about a month fussing with it. I even went so far as to gather up green rocks and black rocks to make my own board with. But alas, I’ve forgotten everything. Hopefully the above link will suffice.

uh… thanks Athena. I was hoping for someone to narrow the search down but point taken :smack:

Go or Wei Qi or Igo or Baduk

(I have played it, and liked it much better than chess - I’m also thinking of writing a Go-playing program - but don’t have much else to add really)

The closest I’ve gotten is Pente its played on the same board, but is much less complicated. Its still quite challenging, and thought provoking.

I’ve been learning for the past couple months. It’s deceptively hard.

Anyway, I found this book to be quite helpful, and, someday, I will beat the f%^*ing computer.
