I started to read the books, but I just couldn’t get into them.
The best thing that came out of the Twilight series is the LJ Smith Night World books are being re-released and I can now buy them (since I read them at the library the first time around, but they were tossed and by that time the books were basically remaindered…).
I’m now on book three…even though I know the ending (from the spoilers here…I’m fine with that) my co-workers keep going into the back room to discuss things so they won’t spoil it for me. The books are engrossing, but I get so angry when I read them…has this child no understanding that vampires and werewolves are a little more durable than frail, klutzy human girls? She is constantly so worried that they will get hurt, but thinks she won’t… and of course the vampire/werewolf boys can’t wrap their brains around that logic, so they just can’t begin to understand her motivations…
Plus…if she’s immune to the powers of the Volturi, why can the powers of the one vampire brother who influences emotions (whose name escapes me), work on her?
It’s very big with teenaged girls…Ivygirl is a HUGE fan and has been spitting mad at Amazon because her copy of the latest book, Breaking Dawn, has yet to arrive (first copy got lost, they refunded the money, the second book can’t be shipped because our address is fake, etc etc)
I’m getting it shipped to my work because quite frankly, she needs to get the damn book already.
