Anyone see Basic?

So, I saw Basic lastIn retrospect, it was a pretty good flick, aside from the fact that I’m not entirely sure I have any clue what happened.

Anyone see it and wanna explain it to me? Major spoilers below explain my confuzzlement.

What I’m really confused about what who was a good guy and who wasn’t. I got that they (the Rangers) obviously didn’t all die, but were they really rangers? The two guys they arrested - the doctor and the guy who they thought was Dunbar (?) but ended up being Pike were doing drug trafficking, and the commanding officer (STyles, I believe) was in on it, too. The gay guy, I believe, was in on it, but was he a good guy? The 8 thing confused me (where he wrote it in blood on the woman’s hand). Then, at the end, they end up at a kitchen somewhere, and they weren’t dead, and they were good guys, and I was really confused.

Help, please?

Don’t bother trying to make sense of Basic.
It made NO SENSE! I saw it with 2 friends, and for days we amused each other by asking each other for explanations of gaping plot holes. It is has one of the most incoherent plots I have tried to unwind. Don’t even try. Entertainment Weekly gave it a D+, and ended their review by saying ‘Who cares?’.
But heck, my friends and I had fun at the movies.
