Anyone see the Live Riffing of Plan 9?

Especially anyone in Nashville that may have been caught on camera? (I swore I saw someone that looked remarkably like some pictures of someone here, but I’m not sure)

Anyway I haven’t laughed that much in a while, I haven’t heard many riffs or watched more than one or two MST3k, but that was one of the most golden things I’ve ever seen in my life, including the short beforehand. I’d say more, but it’s really not necessary, it was simply amazing.

Just got back from the Portland show with my son, and had a blast! We loved the sing-a-long and the fake commercials, and the stewardess short was hilarious.

I was at the Kansas City show at the Cinemark Palace at the Plaza. Good crowd, though not a sell-out. The most surprising part was the locally inserted fake ads. Very smoothly done. The KC crowd didn’t sing “We just want to eat your brains!” very loudly.

My brother and I showed up just before 7 and wound up getting free tickets from a guy whose friends were supposed to be there and blew him off. Turns out he was one of the local short makers.

First time I’ve ever seen “Plan 9”, and it’s awfulness is vastly over-rated. It’s “Citizen Kane” compared to “Manos: The Hands of Fate”.

Yup! Only about 15-20 people in my theater, but it was wild watching Plan 9 on the big screen.

I wonder how this turnout compared to the original turnout in 1958.

Full house in Portland, with everybody singing along.

Half-full house in Morgantown, WV.

It was sold out in Madison. There were a few interruptions of 5-10 seconds when the signal cut out. Pretty healthy sing-along, too.

No dopers, but I did see a guy who looked an awful lot like a friend from high school in the crowd in Nashville.

I really hope they can make this an annual event or something. Surely there’s plenty of material to do!

Sold out in Burlington, Mass. Decent sing-along participation. Has anyone tried the downloads? I went to the site and it triggered my anti-virus. Not sure what that was all about.

Nevermind, just tried again and it worked. I did have to sign up for an account though.
