Anyone seen that Mastercard commercial with Kevin Bacon?

The commercial was pretty clever. I didn’t get it at first because my grandfather believed the man in it was Kiefer Sutherland. (I do think they should have either had him sign his name “Kevin Bacon” instead of “K Bacon” or shown the name “Kevin Bacon” on the credit card. They often do things like that when a celebrity is in a credit card commercial.) The use of Getting to Know You as background music is a nice touch.

And now, my Baconness (with help from the Oracle of Bacon):

The movie In and Out, starring Tom Selleck, was filmed in and around Northern New Jersey-including an old mill which is now closed that’s a couple miles away from my house. At the time they were filming, it was a strip club. We watched outside to see if we could see anybody famous. I didn’t see Selleck, but I did see the director, Frank Oz…
who was in The Muppet Movie with Steve Martin…
who was in Novocaine with…ah, you know.

(I prefer “Six Degrees of Wayne Knight” myself.)

Oh, and one thing I just realized- the commercial was for Visa, not MasterCard. (Although it would be interesting as a MasterCard commercial. “Book on guitar picks: $20. Knowing that people are connected to you: priceless.”)

[sub]Mastercard will be coming to my house to sue me any minute now…look what they did to Ralph Nader…[/sub]

Funny, it looks like “K Ran…” is being signed to me.

I used to babysit for a guy who has a Bacon number of 3.

Per the Oracle:
Will Lucas was in Pharaoh’s Army (1995) with Robert (I) Joy
Robert (I) Joy was in Sweet November (2001) with Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron was in 24 Hours (2002/I) with Kevin Bacon

Yeah, it’s dumb; but what the hey.

I was an extra in D2: The Mighty Ducks(1994), which featured Kathryn Erbe and Michael (I) Tucker. Erbe was in Stir Of Echoes(1999) with Kevin Bacon. Tucker was in Diner(1982) with Bacon.

This gives me a Dual-Bacon of 2 as well. Not bad.
