We’ve cut the cord on cable, which is mostly fine because of such services as Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.
But my sports watching has taken a hit. I’m thinking of subscribing to CBS’ College Sports Live, but am wondering how many of Michigan’s (the only team I really care about) games will be on it. Granted, I’d probably watch other games, but I would only shell out money if a good chunk of Michigan’s games were broadcast (video, not just audio).
Anyone have experience with CSL? Do they show most games? Are the games they show only the games that aren’t on a network that week? Basically, tell me everything you know about it, your experiences, etc.
I can’t answer your question directly, as I’m not familiar with CBS College Sports Live, but if it’s Michigan sports you’re after, you’re probably not going to find what you want.
The Big Ten Network is going to have most, if not all, of Michigan’s games that don’t make ABC/ESPN. That’s just the way it is. I’d be stunned if you could find those games (legally) anywhere else.
Live sports is the one thing cable networks are desperately hanging onto. Cord cutters are definitely affecting the cable TV business model, but if they can ensure the only way to watch major sports live is via cable, sports lovers will have a tough time with cutting the cord.
Again, I am not familiar with the College Sports Live service, but I do know the majority of Big Ten sports is going to be locked up with the Big Ten Network.
Bump, to see if the weekday crowd has any input.
