I’d love to see everyone else’s characters, if you’ve got them done, as well. I won’t be finalizing approval until I see everyone’s characters.
I don’t like matrix campaigns, fer’instance, so if everyone turns out to be a decker, I’m going to have to put the kibosh on some. My campaigns require some mindless gun toters and wizardy guys in addition to the more Gibson-y types.
Just so we’re all on the same page, which edition rules are we using? If it’s the most recent, I’ll have to reach out and see if I can get my hands on them.
Upon response from a friend, I now -have- the books. Yay friends!
Looking through them… Hrm. I know the idea of a ‘face’ sometimes works in a game, and sometimes doesn’t. Some games have social sessions, and some get down to the down-and-dirty of the infiltration and combat. So, mister GM, will a ‘face’ have a place in this game or no? Either way, I’m probably going adept. Power choice comes down to the viability of a mainly ‘social’ character.
I need to get my hands on a PHB before I can make a character. I tried to do that today, but Game Towne was closed. What the hell kind of gaming store closes on Mondays–only on Mondays–every week? And I walked a long way to get there, too!
Anyway, I’ll try to do it tomorrow. If my character ends up being a little too Gibson, I’m willing to change it to a regular street sam. Probably not a mage, since I don’t intend to buy a PHB, a magic handbook, etc…
I don’t know if it helps anyone, but I found an excel character sheet here, about halfway down the page, labeled SR4Chargen.xls. It doesn’t have any nifty macros for calculating scores, but it does keep track of BP and contain a list of all the default skills.
I have some electronic gimmicks to hand out to the party… should I just list what I’m giving out here to save time, or would it be better to wait until the formal game and do it IC?
I’ll be the mage. I’ll have my character done by Wednesday. I’m thinking a Sicilian native who emigrated to Seattle only a few years ago. Some European experience, but fairly new to the Seattle scene.
Hmm, actually, scratch the electronics thing; I just discovered a somewhat gigantic hole in my fiendish plan, so I’ll have to scrap it for party safety. :smack:
You don’t keep the nuyen left over from chargen. Let me find the relevant table in the book.
Ah, yes, page 86:
STARTING MONEY TABLE
Lifestyle Dice Rolled Money Multiplier
Street 1D6 x 10
Squatter 2D6 x 20
Low 3D6 x 50
Middle 4D6 x 100
High 4D6 x 500
Luxury 4D6 x 1,000
Page 49:
So if you have 400 nuyen left over at the end of chargen and a Low lifestyle, you would start with (3D6+4) * 50 nuyen. Or with a High lifestyle, (4D6+4) * 500 nuyen, etc.
Hmm… we don’t have a party healer, do we? If nobody is going to take any of the Medicine stuff, I might be able to find a spare BP and buy us an Autodoc.
