Just finished Season 3, LOVED IT.
Reports are Seasons 4-5 are coming in 2017 and 2018, with the series wrapping up the Shelby Family right before WW2.
I loved Sam Neill’s character; the rest of the show I enjoyed not so much. There is little nuance in the characters or story lines. It’s too much of goodies versus baddies, the baddies in this case being the police and intelligence services. My problem with the show stems from ep1. I won’t spoil it, but a certain scene at the canal should have ended differently. It’s not the moral maze that is The Sopranos. Plus, it has a pretty boy as lead actor. Cillian Murphy is a fine actor. But what I know of modern television; the more handsome the main lead the more mediocre the show.
I kept putting off trying this show as I was sure I wasn’t going to like it but here I am half way through season three and loving it.
I tried Boardwalk Empire a few months before and could not stand it. Barely made it through 1.5 episodes.
I watched it and loved it. Looking forward to season 3.
I started watching S3 and then, after about 3 episodes, stopped and binged it from the very start. Just caught up.
I kind of like the madness of S3 more - at some point in S2 it felt a little formulaic but that might have been a product of binging it.
It’s decent enough, no depth to speak of but a pleasant enough romp. I suppose it’s redeeming quality is it’s different, and S3 is the most different to date.

That’s fantastic news, thank you. I’m into Season 3 but haven’t had a chance to watch it lately. I miss staring at Thomas Shelby. Mmmmm.
[Spoiler]My favourite scene in Season 1 was the look that John gave when he realized that the gypsy that Thomas got him to marry turned out to be young and pretty. When he looks back at Thomas and Arthur like “Aw yeah.”
