Agree with every word - the associated book was a huge seller over here at Christmas. My wife has described the advice as “screamingly obvious common sense that no-one ever told you before.”
Just make sure you have a cushion or something you can punch whilst watching, though.
The show has been running for some time in the UK. Yes, the consultants cannot help but be rude sometimes. But you do get the feeling that they are genuinly passionate about cloths and just want to make sure they get their point across to the client. Change is a painful process, even when you want it to happen. Some clients have been reduced to tears.
BTW it is not just women who get the treatment…
Normally, I have nothing but contempt for the fashion industry. But these women do at least explain why they are right and their clients are ordinary-shaped people. Generally, it cannot be denied that they do turn out to be right.
They did Jeremy Clarkson. Which seems fair enough to me. Unfortunately they didn’t try out just how much more presentable he’d be with his head detached from his body.
Perhaps some other programme would like to try this?
Jeremy Clarkson… in U.S. terms, think a scruffy P.J. O’Rourke, intensely irritating yet wildly funny. The kind of man you’d want at a party to make it go with a swing, but wouldn’t want living next door for all the money in the world.
Car journalist who’s progressed to talk-show host, where he spouts off against … well, everything that isn’t him, mainly.
