Anyone with circulation problems...

My hand keeps falling asleep

If its from lack of circulation then why exercising the arm and wrist to get the circulation going doesnt work out the sleeping sensation?? This has been bugging me for more than a week now!!

I’ve tried those wrist compression things and it works somewhat but take it off and the sleeping comes back, tighten it more, no worky, loosening it no worky! No happy medium!

Hurts to tap out the keys here big time!!

Have you considered consulting a doctor?

That’s where I’d start. Since I’m especially fond of having the full use of my hands, I’d do it sooner rather than later.

Good Luck and let us know how it works out!

I’m not an MD–just a WAG from a layperson–but it sounds more like neuropathy than a circulation problem.

could be a number of things I just read about.

I’ve been away from the daily repetitive keyboard usage that I usually am for about a month so I would think not carpal tunnel in either wrist. I am having pain in the joint between the index and middle finger because of over usage with the mouse but again been away from continuous usage for a month

Didnt seem to bother me out for my walk this morning (BTW I’ve lost 24 pounds so far since earlier this year)

I do have diabetes so I’m hoping that will get better with the weight loss continuing

I’d like to hit the doctors office but been there in the past year with different problems with negative results on everything so going in might just show the same thing…might be a mistake not going in but they probably think I’m a hypochondriac as it is…just last week with swelling in my neck and she found nothing…:smack::smack::frowning:

I give up with the hands but I have to use them!

I had numbness in my hand(s) as a result of cervical radiculopathy.

Several courses of physical therapy and I remain symptom free for the last 15 years.

Medical questions go in IMHO, so off you go.

Are you seeing an endocrinologist for your diabetes? Have you discussed diabetic neuropathy? Also, peripheral vascular disease? I have both, mainly in my legs and feet. Getting early treatment is imperative.

When the tendons in my wrists are inflamed my hands fall asleep. I take ibuprofen daily to keep that from getting too bad. As I understand it, tendinitis never completely goes away.
