Anything I can do with these speakers? They no worky. (Logitech Z-2300)

So my old set of computer speakers broke, and ever since then, my pain has been significant. I originally ordered a set of Altec speakers, but they sounded just dreadful with any spoken words (music was fine), so I returned them.

Now I’ve ordered a set of Logitech Z-2300 speakers. They arrived from Amazon today. The hitch? I can’t get 'em to do a damn thing. They seem to get power briefly (the LED on the remote turns on when I turn on the subwoofer, then fades away a moment later… unsure why).

I called the experts at Logitech, who advised me to “plug it into an MP3”. “Do you mean play an MP3?” “Yes.” “That doesn’t work, that’s why I called.” “Try another source.” “Do you mean a different MP3? Here, I’ll pick a different file. No go. Streaming audio or video, it all doesn’t work.” “So you tried two iPods?” “Uh, no? Do you want me to try an iPod?” “Yes.” “Okay… nope, nothing.” “Okay, return it.” Great guys, thanks for the thorough troubleshooting. Definitely work the lengthy hold and having to arduously spell my name and address and etc.

So, this expert opinion aside, is there anything I could be missing? The satellites are plugged into the subwoofer, the remote’s plugged into the subwoofer and the PC, the subwoofer’s plugged into the wall.

Anything I could do before giving up? I’m missin’ my streaming video here, and TF2 just isn’t the same without the cries of pain.

Setup seems straightforward. Power LED is supposed tostay lit continuously when power button pushed on so you appaerntly have a power issue. If all your connections are fully seated, tight and solid it sounds like a defective unit.

Ah, that’s helpful. At least that part’s confirmed. Oh well.
