I’ve got hundreds of files that all fit the same basic scheme “Number - Name.” The numbers are all different, and the names are all different. I want to edit them down so it’s just “Name.” Is there any easy way to do this other than manually editing each one? Googling has been no help, all I can find is batch rename to get things like “File001, File002, etc.” That’s not what I’m looking for.

AntRenamer is your friend
I occasionally use A Better Finder Rename on the Mac to do exactly this kind of thing. There is a Windows version.
Excellent. Looks like both of those will do what I’m looking for, but I’ll probably go with the first one since it’s free.
I’ve always used 1-4 Rename, for all it’s faults it has all the options I need, and a shitload of others. (it’ll rename according to Star Trek ‘stardates’ if you want)
edit: I haven’t tried it on Win 7
I like this one: Bulk Rename Utility. It has a weird interface, but once you get used to it, it’s quite easy to use. It’s also free.
