I have a PC with Windows 98. My internet provider is Road Runner, but my son uses a download of AOL Instant Messanger to communicate with his friends.
This program is conflicting with something, because, even if he’s signed out of it, it makes my computer run “herky jerky”. (I’ve been here before complaining about the herky jerkyness. Now I know what’s causing it). There is NO virus on my computer. It’s the AOL Instant Messanger causing the bad performance.
Every night I have to go into the control panel and remove this program. Simply having him sign out or exit the messenger is not good enough. It has to be completely removed from the hard drive or the pc runs like sh*t!
My question is, why does this single program do this? And is there anything else I could do so I would have to spend time removing it every day. (beside kicking his ass. I’ve thought of that:D).
And, is there any other type of “instant messanger” program he could use that won’t cause these problems?
