Well, in one sense, they were already honored: Supposedly, the series Junkyard Wars was inspired by the scene in Apollo 13 where they threw all the available parts on the table and told the engineers to come up with something that would work. A young TV producer saw it, and thought it would make a cool show.
It’s an honor, of a sort.
