I, for one, am shocked that the supposedly private criticism of Netanyahu boils down to “he’s a liar” and “I’ve gotta work with him more than you”. Really? The guy is plainly a full on obnoxious warmongering lying piece of poo. In private I would expect them to be a little plainer about what an impediment he is to anything positive except his own political career. I would like them to criticize the bastard more harshly in public.

Because the Jewish voters in Florida always swing between the Democrats and the Republicans. Oh wait they don’t.

I always wondered why that is really. Of the two parties it seems to be Republicans that have the unwavering support for Israel, at least that’s what I’ve gathered from the Fox News bile I’ve managed to step in over the years.

I know they’re ‘guns, god and glory’ with foreign policy, but from their perspective they’d be justified in criticizing Democratic support for an often uncooperative ally. What constituents are they going to piss off? The ‘Liberal elites’ of New York?

You’re talking shite. A man unaware that the mic is on makes a comment about Netanyahu being a liar. It’s not a statement about Israel, the jews, or anything else. It’s Sarkozy calling Netanyahu a liar.

What makes your comment particularly amusing is the preamble, about being annoyed at the prominence of Israel as a topic, and then making it the centre of this particular incident. Nice line in consistency there.

Sometimes, it’s possible for one person to dislike another, without it being anything to do with their race, creed, beliefs or anything else. In this case, Sarkozy is making his personal dislike of Netanyahu clear to Obama. As already pointed out by Simplicio, that seems to be quite a common theme.

But the original context of the convo was about foreign policy, NOT about Netanyahu being an asshole. Did you miss the part where I said there was no antisemitism there?!

I’m gonna go way out on a limb and guess that (1) Obama is a liar; (2) Sarkozy is a liar; (3) Netanyahu is a liar; (4) George Bush (both) are liars; (5) Bill Clinton is a liar; (6) Ronald Reagan was a liar; (7) Jimmy Carter is a liar; and so on.

In fact, I will really expose myself this morning and assert that in general, successful politicians are liars.
