I used to eat often. Hey, food! In the past month, its lessened. Now I’m not wanting food all the time. When I eat, I get filled up quicker. This is a new thing. Is it fairly normal? I weigh 158, the most I’ve ever weighed. At 5’10", thats fine.
Thanks for any opinions.
Hmm? Maybe you’re body is just adjusting itself. Farfetched? I don’t know. I wish my body could do that without help.
Maybe you’re eating better calories that give you a correct vitamin load.
If it stays like that see a doctor. Of course.
Being in love will do that to you …
You can engineer that outcome yourself through “portion control”. It doesn’t sound like you have done that, though, because you didn’t mention it. Illness can cause that, but you didn’t mention feeling unwell, so I’m going to dismiss that, also. Stress can cause people to eat more so, if you were stressed and are now feeling much better emotionally, that could be the answer.
Age and a slower metabolism did that to me. Not so much how often I ate, but how much I could eat in a sitting. I weigh 175 and I’m 5’6", and weighed more until the covid shutdowns, when I stopped eating junk food at the office.
I eat less, fill up quicker, and I really miss being able to feast.
That being said, it happened to me gradually, over a few years. It sounds like this is a sudden change for you. I’d talk to a doctor.
I think you’re right. I am a senior, and I am on thyroid medication. Yes, had blood work recently, all is okay. Its a good thing.
Yes, unexplained appetite loss as a senior is definitly something you want to bring up with your doctor. Although your bloodwork may have been fine at the last reading something may have changed, or you may need additional test. Better not to ignore something that may be an early warning sign, better safe than sorry.
BTW, I hope it turns out to be nothing.
