apples for an apple tart?

I thought I would make this recipe this weekend.

What apples should I use (grocery store has the normal selection, nothing too fancy).

I use Honeycrisp for eating & baking, they are one of the few apples that work for both. If you can’t find those, go for the Granny Smith. Most grocery stores carry them, and they’re great for baking.

The grocery store doesn’t have honey crisp, I keep looking because I like them for eating. I like granny smith though. Was also wondering about cameo, they have a nice texture, wondering if they would be yummy.

For tarts I use Golden Delicious - that’s what the Julia Child recipe I have calls for and they seem to work well.
