It’s been brought up and ignored or dismissed in the general stampede to mock the federal and Massachusetts authorities.
From articles I recall from earlier in this thread, I think that there were a couple other cities with displays on infrastructure, but the majority of them were not. Even then, I suspect that there were a few others tossed on bridges for lack of anything better made of metal lying around, but if it was only one out of thirty displays in that city, it ended up being counted as none.
The notion that Boston was the only city where the devices were placed on “major transportation centers” (read: near a road), far from being “ignored”, has been addressed and disproven in this thread. This is a desperate attempt by the Boston authorities to rationalize their blatant overreaction to the situation, and a hideously lame excuse to try to justify why no other city seemed to have anywhere NEAR the problem dealing with the situation that Boston did. They’re quite simply grasping at straws. Damage control, and a poor job of it at that.
the head of the Cartoon Network has stepped down because of this controversy. Gee, what a Rather stupid thing to quit your job over.
So, after all this, I sat down and watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force the other day. Although I’m not their target audience (by more than 10 years), it cracked me up.
Moral Oral is pretty good, too.
Mission Accomplished, Cartoon Network!
