I’d like to find out the name of an arcade game and wondered if anyone here might be able to help. I played it in 2007 and it had been out a year or two at the time. I believe at least two differently themed games were based on the same hardware. I’ve a feeling it may have been a Konami game but I’ve not been able to find it in lists of their stuff.

The one I played was a cop game, with an outline of the player visible on screen and you fired into the screen in a 3rd person view. The outline was kind of like Nintendo’s Punch Out. The game was a Virtua Cop style thing where you shot at bad guys and hid behind cars and scenery then popped out to fire. The graphics were very realistic not cartoony like Virtua Cop.

The big difference though was that there was a rectangular hoop that you stood under while playing, and the hoop had ultrasonic detectors on it. They sensed your position and you physically moved and ducked while your on screen character mimicked your movements. Was great fun once you got over the embarrassment of ducking and moving about in front of the public.

Ah, Police 911 and Police 911 2. The games where you could earn !!ONE HUNDRED LIVES!! and watch them immediately go into the toilet once you got shot down by the clock like everyone else. :roll_eyes:

The boxing game you’re thinking of was Mocap Boxing.

I played these. The biggest problem for me wasn’t embarrassment (I was surrounded by other players, they knew what it was like), it was overexerting something without even realizing it and feeling sore in a weirdly specific area the next day. I still remember a Mocap Boxing session that left me with terrible aches just above my knees. Not in my knees, just above them.
