Personally I think Angela’s voice was noticeably stronger, with a subtle streak of anguish that’s not readily apparent with Alissa. Visually, of course, she’s an improvement. It remains to be seen how well do on the new album, and I do hope she incorporates some clean vocals like she did with her former band The Agonist, which is something Angela never did.
Ultimately it won’t matter because the band as a whole are shitty songwriters who, at their best, rise only to the level of mediocrity. Technically proficient but without that creative spark that would harness that wizardry in order to form something Great.
I have to agree somewhat. AE lack…well, something that might push them to the next level. I like the new lead singer, but I wish she had a bit more midrange or bass to her vocals, like maybe Otep.
