Didn’t this message board keep an archive of old threads? Isn’t it searchable? if so, it doesn’t appear to be accessible when I go to “Search”.
I was curious to raise an old posted question of mine now that I have some new info on the topic.
Or, at this point, should I just repost as a new question?
I think the default setting for a search is “Since 5 days ago”. You should set this to “Any date”. Hope this helps.
…and make sure you choose the correct forum the old thread was in, or if you can’t remember, choose “search all forums.”
There should be checkbox list to search, say, GD and IMHO but no other forums. 
Or maybe I just like complaining.
But if it’s true about old inactive threads getting pruned, maybe yours was one of them?
Well, don’t I feel like an idiot. Just read Ed Zotti’s announcement about pruning. I’d read a mention of it in a different thread and assumed it was already happening.
Thanks all, but I thought there once was a part of the message board which said “Search Archives” or soemthing to that effect. Maybe that goes back before the format of the message board was redone maybe 1 or 1.5 years ago now?

Yeah, under UBB there were separate archives. You’re not imagining things, Jinx.
Yeah, I suspect you are remembering the old days of UBB. At one point back then, we had an archive for each active forum. Not all of 'em had something in 'em, but the file drawer, so to speak, existed. Sadly, the conversion to vB swallowed some of those old threads whole; they are no longer available anywhere. Twarn’t s’posed ta happen, but there ya go.
