Are all national pizza chain pizzas garbage?

Too bad you’re not in Columbus. There are a couple of mini-chains in the area that are excellent–Christy’s and Massey’s.

Nah. Bad pizza is definitely not good. Little Cesar’s is the worst of the bunch. Domino’s is only marginally better. Papa John’s is the same crap quality as Domino’s, but a slightly different flavor of crap. Pizza Hut and Sbarro’s are at least edible.

If I had to pick a national chain, Uno’s probably would make the cut, even though that type of pizza is a whole 'nother beast that deserves its own category.

Quite frankly, I would never voluntarily order out thin crust from any of the national chains. It’s not a snob thing; I just think they all suck.

My favorite pizza: Pizza Hut’s plain cheese, thinly spread, on a *thin * crust. Not too carbo-destructo (for pizza, anyhow), plus they deliver. Yay for late night pizza cravings!

Also, they seem to be pretty cool about me stopping and using their bathrooms even when I’m not buying pizza. I have lately to go back and forth on Interstate 70 between Gaithersburg and Baltimore, and I have Nervous Driving Bladder. They’re always swell about letting me pee at the two Pizza Huts I pass en route.

What more couldja ask for?

I like Papa John’s. Here in Atlanta, my favorite local chain is Fellini’s.

The crust is the best part!

Wait, what are we talking about again?

I live in Atlanta, too. Fellini’s is pretty good. Have you tried Athens Pizza? Moe’s Pizza is pretty good as well. I order Johnny’s alot, but only because it’s close (it ain’t great, but anything is better than the national chain crap). What about Fritti, great wood oven pizza? My wife, a resident of Italy for three years, assures me it is just like the stuff from over there.

I agree that there aren’t any really great chain pizza chains. but I’ll admit to a craving for a thin crust supreme from Pizza Hut about twice a year.

I love Papa Johns, actually. It was really annoying a couple of years back when the one close to my apartment closed so I started going to another one and it closed. Luckily, I moved in August and there happens to be one right down the street.

Ah! You’re most welcome! I went to HS and college there (many years ago); hope you’re enjoying it!
