The “easter-eggs” I’m referring to are the scenes/footage/outtakes that are hidden in the DVD menu screens. The last ones I remember were from the LOTR extended DVDs where in some of the menus you could scroll left or right and a hidden icon would appear to reveal MTV gollum footage.
Do they not put these in DVDs anymore?
Even the old popular website “dvdeastereggs.com” looks to be rarely updated.
There are easter eggs in the *Ratatouille *DVD … but I don’t know if you consider that “recent.”
There is one in the fourth Futurama movie, just released a few weeks ago. so no, they aren’t dead. They just depend on producers and programmers willing to put in a little extra effort to create something that only the obsessive (or those who will look for the info on the Net) will ever see.
Do Blu Ray easter eggs count?
