maybe its because unlike women, we dont feel we have to run to discrimination courts everytime we hear something we dont like or when some apparent wrong is done to us. men can take the rough with the smooth, when are women going to learn to do the same
Gee, rogue, thanks for that edifying post. So have you got any support for the allegation that the largest number of law suits for discrimination or wrongdoing is brought by women?
[Raises hand]I’ve always wanted to be Mr Mom. Except I wouldn’t be such a total fuck-up like Keaton was. God, that movie makes me embarrassed to have concepts capable of understanding it.
Men will care about this behavior when it becomes evident that this behavior impedes them from doing and getting what they want. Whether this behavior will ever actually achieve that, I don’t know. I don’t think so, however.
The male culture of yore worked hard to paint the image of a man as one who would have sex whenever and with whomever he wanted. Even the complaint that “women are sluts, men are [whatever]” is cliche (though it doesn’t make it untrue). Now that women have the power to assert their sexuality it is not surprising to see that double standard bite us on the collective ass. I’m not saying we deserve it, of course; I am not responsible for the acts of my ancestors. But, it is not surprising. Reading the experiences of male strippers also show how very different it is from being a female stripper in the same “quality” of club.
I don’t see it as so much of a backlash at all, and I think to conceive of it that way is a huge mistake. Women are simply gaining access to the power men used to hold (when our society really was patriarchal) and acting the same way we did. If anything it is further proof of their humanity (for the last of you folks out there who ever doubted it ;)).
I highly doubt men will lose their power except in a balancing-act way (which is how it should have been the whole time).
[sub]PS—just a tidbit I’d like to share, the illogical mystic in me still whispers that women are in fact better than men and we, as men, will one day be phased out in an attempt to create a more efficient society.[/sub]
“Divorce adversely impacts women relative to men: the stats are very vivid on this point.”
Like your posts but decided to take issue with this. Just the opposite is true, men are much more likely to commit suicide and lose custody of their children after divorce than women. And divorced fathers are not financially better off than divorced mothers.

Not only that, but females aren’t required to do much at all to aquire wealth from males. All a female is required to do is quit her job the day after marriage and use her husbands money to defend herself a few years down the road. If she marries someone making over 80 grand per year; she’ll never be required to work another day in her life. If she never marries her additional flings or companions, she can effectively survive off of two incomes without doing a thing. The kids are always a problem in these negotiations though; if she is somehow unfortunately forced to be stuck with the children used as leverage; then she will additionally be granted child support.
There is effectively no measure of law which prevents this, absent a pre-nup.

Gee Mandelstam, thanks for the effort in trying to be sarcastic. Can you really try to deny that women dont sue for sexual descrimination more than men? type google in your browser, then search under sexual descrimination cases, go to any of the top 20 sites, it lists current cases throughout the world, at a conservative guess i would say 95% are brought by women
