Are people too hung up on race?

Good link, Jois, thanks.

There are also the more subtle expressions of racism, such as the pastor at a church in rural southern Ohio earlier this month who refused to perform a wedding, or allow it to be performed in his church, between an interracial couple.

Castle Greyskull.

Could be a simple form, but it’s fun.
If you know what I mean… And I think you do.

<wink>

Damn, pldennison. That may not be a crime, but I don’t know if I’d call that subtle at all. That seems to be the same as racial discrimination in hiring practices or medical care. I think of subtle racism as an unwillingness to associate with people because of their race while not deliberately taking action or inaction in a way that will directly affect people.

No, Wonko, I don’t know quite what you mean. Are you stating that the unjustified abuse of other posters is a source of amusement for you?

Hmmm… If I were a racist… what would I say?

I’ll get back to you tomorrow. I’m punching out.

<ka-chunk>{wonko looks at punchcard and smiles satisfyingly}

For tomorrow class- define exactly what I said was abusive to any poster on this board (I don’t remember referring to anyone in particular, I was however making fun of your argument not you.), and remember- extra points for spelling, grammar, and most importantly details, details, details. Concrete answers only! No inferring views without evidence! Read chapter 27- it’s on the test!

Do we call each other names now, and send nasty emails back and forth, or is that for tomorrow?
I’m not so sure.

Anyone else know?

Fill me in?
um…
Dude… Go home… Have a beer/iced tea/cigar/bonghit/whatever.
Tell your friends I’m racist. I still can’t get my mind around the whole “biological propensity towards violence, mayhem and lawlessness” but I’ll work on it. I promise…
I don’t want to make a liar out of you.

What happens now? You see me in the Pit. Make a liar out of me.

I’m not a racist, I hate all people equally. :wink:
