Are Republicans shooting themselves in the foot on health care?

So what was it, a secret invisible plan? My description is based on what Bush actually said (cite cite) not on what he was supposedly thinking. You can say you “know” that Bush wanted to eliminate social security completely. But that’s no different than conservatives saying they “know” that Obama wants to confiscate all the guns in the country.

Just like that, ehe? Thanks, but no thanks. If you haven’t been convinced in any of the numerous debates on this subject over the last few years you won’t be. It’s a DEBATE, not a scientific theory. You are free to feel about it as you like. What folks on your side seem incapable of doing is understanding that it IS a debate, and that not everyone who looks at the same data comes to the same conclusions.

And that’s about all I intend to say on this subject, since it’s not central to the question being asked in the OP. If you want more I encourage you to use that search feature up above, pull up a few hundred old threads on this subject and go through them, reading both sides with as open a mind as you can manage.

I suppose they’ve been shooting themselves in the foot for 40 years then. They’ll be so sorry! Any day now…

Some of the bills being looked at have a public option. That is an attempt to fix what causes the endless rising premiums. Those bills do deal with the costs of providing health care. There will be a meshing of bills once they are all passed. That is when we see if they really are going to fix the health care mess.

Hardly secret, just not popularized. Of course conservatives think that if it isn’t on Fox, it doesn’t and never did exist. Reality and the historical record have such a liberal bias.
