The friggin blackflies here in upstate NY are terrible on my back porch this spring. I don’t remember them being this bad. I may need to take up cigars.

There are very very few flying insects out here in CA. I love it!
They were out today, not looking good, but not too numerous, but they are usually not here at all.
Finally, a flying pest that doesn’t inhabit the southern US! Y’all can keep them!
Yes! A thousand times YES!!! They’re driving me out of my mind. :eek: I’m sure I look like a lunatic, walking along, flailing my arms all over the place to keep them from getting me.
The other day I breathed in two at the same time and nearly hacked out a lung coughing them out. One went in my eye and when I smooshed it, part of it stayed in my eye till I got home and picked the rest of it out.
I’m on Vancouver Island but I’ll blame Trump, too.
