Sure they did! A few previous episodes involved the development of such a pathogen. Seven had to endure a psychotic episode after being exposed to a pathogen delivery device.
Nope. Maybe they too busy dealing with Species 8472?

Forget the Borg for a bit–we need to bury Cal’s sig. From the way it stinks, I’d say it’s been dead a while, too.
Whom the hive does not cherish, it eats.
And why the hell did they call them drones, they were workers, not stud puppets for the Queen.
Because that aspect of Voyager was poorly developed? Because they wanted to turn the Borg into something that it originally wasn’t, just to make it a REAL enemy instead of the impassionate “force of nature” that it had been made out to be in TNG? Because ST writers can’t stick with continuity if their lives depended on it?
Anyhoo, I want to congratulate Don Jaime for his excellent writing… however, I think the last verse should be as follows:
Sure, it ignores Torres and Tuvok… GOOD!
Oooh, thanks! I came up with that during the first season, which is why 7 of 9 isn’t included. Frankly, you could have used her in the rewrite and dumped Kim and Parris, they were boring, too. And Kes. And Neelix, what a waste. And Chakotay, he wasn’t much. Shoot, why I am even talking about this anymore?
I don’t know if the borg are dead with the end of Voyager.
What I want to know is wether or not Star Trek is dead.
Well, I remember that back when they first did DS9, they were still showing new episodes of TNG. And back when they started Voyager, they were still showing episodes of DS9. So the past two series’ weren’t as crucial as the upcoming one.
IMOSHO, they’re taking a huge risk with this massive step back… a lot of fans have been thriving on the continuity, watching the shows only to see how things develop. By going back so far, they’re losing this advantage, and will only hold onto the diehard fans who would watch ANY Star Trek, no matter how lousy.
And so far, the previews for the show don’t look like Star Trek at all… as the brilliant philosopher Comic Book Guy would say: “Worst series ever.”
** SPOOFE**
I plan on watching it no matter how lousy it is. Does that make me any less of a person? Huh? Does it?
Okay, maybe you shouldn’t answer that.
You have noticed that the new series is not called Star Trek? Berman is excited because these characters won’t be the ‘perfect Rodenberry humans’. That he is not bothered by the fact that he dosen’t even know the difference between a phaser and a photon torpedo. This series seems to be an easy way to make a space opera except that they don’t have to come up with all these alien races because we will just use the ones we have. They may not act the same as they did befor but who cares?
Not in the slightest. I’m going to watch it, myself, and give it a chance. If, after a few episodes, I’m satisfied that it’s a hunk of crap, I’ll stop watching.
Now, if you watch it while wearing plastic Spock ears an a replica of a Starfleet uniform, THAT would make you less of a person.
