Are the Brunching Shuttlecocks Dead?

Thanks to one of the Teeming Millions (and I wish I could remember who, so I could thank them), I got turned onto the humor of the Brunching Shuttlecocks (http://www.brunching.com). I became obsessive for a while. reading the archives of all the Ratings (especially the ones on Breakfast Cereals and Foreign Snack Foods). It was a great way to start my day.

Then—Lore decides to go to weekly updates. Which then stretch on to bi-weekly, to monthly, to… the situtation we have today, i.e., no updates in over a month.

I realize it’s the holidays, and Lore probably has a Real Life, but dammit, I’m going through shuttlecock withdrawal. I’ll have to go out and buy his book of ratings, just so I’ll have something to get me through these tough times.

Anyone have any inside info on Lore and the fate of the Shuttlecocks?

no idea. I’ve been wondering the same thing.

Have you tried mailing the 'cocks?

Lore had been unemployed for a while. Whether or not he still is, I’m not sure. But his employment or lack thereof may explain why the site hasn’t been updated recently.

Dang, but that’s gotta hurt.

I’ve been going through the same thing, so I should know.

Actually, I got here (the Straight Dope) through the Shuttlecocks. Lore linked to one of Cecil’s columns once, and the rest is history. I hope he is OK, that is hilarious. If someone finds out, please let us know.

I meant HE is hilarious, not that! :smack:

 preview is my friend…

“Smoking will kill you. And everything you love.”

What about stroking them?

I notice that he hasn’t updated his blog lately either. Maybe he’s doing publicity on his book?

He was sick a ways back, wasn’t he? Of course, I doubt it lasted over a month, so it’s probably something else…

Thanks for link to the weblog, tanstaafl. While it didn’t provide any info as to Lore’s whereabouts (though it stopped being updated exactly when TBS was), it did make my day. Now I know the lyrics to the “Penis Sexy Sister” song…
“May your semen soar and reach the moon.”

I’m also hoping Lore starts updating his site again sometime soon. If we have lost the man behind that poignant tale of unrequited love, “The Bjork Song,” it truly is a sad day.

Probably busy marketing the book.

We’ve been wondering about it on the Brunching Shuttlecocks fan message board. (www.brunchma.com).
