Are the planetary poles shifting as we speak?

If the axis of the Earth is moving significantly, it should be easy enough to notice. The north pole points pretty squarely at Polaris aka The North Star. Time lapse photography of the night sky shows the stars seeming to swirl around the Pole Star. If the Earth is changing its axis, time lapse photography would show the North Star ceasing to appear as a fixed point. I’d like to see that.

I watched the video. Very intriguing, it lends credence to the possibility that the Mayans were right that the world really is going to end this year. It includes what are purported to be photographs of the object in the sky, and some claims that the orbits of Uranus and another planet are being disturbed. I’m going to hold out for more evidence though, specifically what I mentioned above.

Ah, yes, the argument from “Someone was wrong before, therefore I’m right now.” There’s got to be a Latin name for that one.

Astronomers do in fact have observatories in the Southern Hemisphere. The Southern sky is just as interesting to them as the North is.

Oh, and I don’t know how cold the Inuit are right now. It’s summer in Canada and Alaska.

They’re probably saying “Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn!” Just like they did the last time the poles shifted and they conquered the land of Lomar.

well, the case being that I AM in the southern hemisphere and I haven’t seen anything unusual in the sky…
Does that mean that the “government” has somehow replaced the sky over Buenos Aires with a doctored version?

Sure; it’s a giant environmental dome so that when the Earth is flung into interstellar space Buenos Aires can survive.

I’m glad I voted for them then!.

Just like they crucified Harold Camping. Boy was egg on their face when the world blew up last May, except for the fact that it didn’t. On the positive side you are in great company. There are lots of examples where thousands of people thought the world was going to end, and just because the last 150 were wrong doesn’t mean you might not be the one that gets it right.

Why are the Jehovah’s Witnesses/Catholic Church/‘Israeli elites’/British Royal family/Illuminati/etc. from that thread working so hard to instigate a nuclear war when they could just sit back and let the Pole Shift and its aftermath do most of the heavy lifting (such as reducing world population to 2 billion or so) for them?
(Or is it unfair to ask the OP to have his conspiracy theories make sense with each other when they fail to make sense as stand alone items?)

Why not? Seriously. Why wouldn’t they want to at least warn people so that some of them survive? The shadowy “government’s” don’t need ALL of the inland land, and they have lots of people with guns to protect the part of the land they do want to keep, so why not send out a warning so that the rest of it can fill up with refugees? Why automatically assume that everyone in the government wants to see massive numbers of civilian deaths?

Except, of course, for the tiny little detail that “the Mayans” never said that, or anything like it. It’s a complete misinterpretation of the facts.

Did so. There’s a Youtube video of it.

Crap, I was hoping the poles would shift all of a sudden. That’d be one great head rush!

So, on this east coast deluge, do we have a data/time scheduled for that? I’m wondering if I still have time to stack up a bunch of shipping containers and outfit them as ‘cabins’ to rent out to all the displaced folks.

Also, when will we get a drawing of the new east coast? Will I finally have beach front property if I’m near the Ohio River?

Statistically speaking, someone is going to be right eventually.

Well sure. We know for a fact that Earth will eventually be engulfed by the Sun as it expands into a red giant.

Bet THAT will have some effect on the Poles and getting them to shift. Bet the Germans and Russians have to shift too…

(it will take care of all those freaking penguins though, which will make the Inuit happy)

When it’s cold, it’s also hard for myunit to be happy.

I’m moving this to MPSIMS.

Oooo! A Youtube video! I’m convinced.

Well, I’m convinced. Should I invest in a sunscreen company? Or maybe I should stockpile some hats.

Another drive by link. I actually clicked on this one just for fun (I didn’t have anything better to do while waiting for the bus to take me to the rental car place). Unreal Entertainment, huh? :stuck_out_tongue: And everything in the Bible is slowly coming true? Gotcha. Tornadoes on the Sun (never seen before), strange sounds, animals dying (they don’t normally do that), dogs and cats living together in sin…it’s mass chaos!!

Ok, look. Whenever you watch a video where they don’t actually present any evidence but instead a montage of images and snippets from random news events, your bullshit detector should be going off. You can spin things any way you like if you just cut and paste a bunch of stuff out of random news.

Let me ask you a serious question, since it’s clear that YOU think something is going on here. Let’s take all these ‘mysterious’ animal deaths. Why are the animals dying? Why are the birds dying or the turtles or fish? Why is this mysterious force affecting them, but not us? Why aren’t there mass deaths of humans in those same regions? Or mass deaths of dogs and cats, or horses, cows, chickens or other animals? Why would tornadoes on the sun be unusual, and, assuming they are due to this mysterious force why isn’t it affecting the earth? I mean, think about that…if this thing is causing giant tornadoes on the sun, why isn’t it causing, you know, giant tornadoes on the earth? Or worse?
