Are the Tea Party Funders Happy With This Congress?

Rupert Murdoch, David Koch, and Charles Koch are funding the Tea Party. By funding challengers in primary elections they have managed to remove several moderate Republicans from Congress and have put radical Republicans in their place. This has put the fear of being “primaried” for not being sufficiently conservative into the remaining Republicans in Congress.

The current shut down of the US government can be directly traced to these radicals in Congress who were elected due to the funding by three multi-billionaires. The main focus for these radicals seems to be repealing the Affordable Care Act – but they are now willing to accept a one year delay.

Do you feel that Rupert Murdoch, David Koch, and Charles Koch are happy about the shut down in an attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act or do you think they now regret letting the genie out of the bottle?

Why should they be happy? Defunding ACA and delaying its implementation haven’t occurred yet.

FWIW, I think they are manipulating the Tea Party lemmings for other (as of yet) unknown reasons.

This congress makes government look incompetent and dysfunctional, which is a good thing from the POV of a libertarian. So yes.

The last thing the tea party (and their funders) want is for a government program (especially a new one) to work and work well. Or a functional congress.

I figure they don’t give a shit one way or the other about the shutdown, and won’t unless and until it actually affects them personally. I do think it’s important to them, for psychological/emotional reasons that I can’t really relate to, to try to thwart Obama and anything he endorses.
