Are there any Apps other than Tapatalk to access Discussion boards?

Tapatalk is nagging me constantly about their paid ads free app.

I really dislike the requirement to create a tapatalk account and sign into Tapatalk. Then you have to enter your board accounts and passwords into Tapatalk

The app then signs people into a board. That’s clunky and it encourages people not to change their password on the boards. Your board login is out of sight and easily forgotten.

Are there any alternative Android Apps?

Otherwise, I may resume using Chrome on a PC.

Not that I’ve found, other than just using Chrome on your phone. If there’s anything else out there - even if there’s other drawbacks - I wouldn’t mind knowing, too.

Bump. The new intrusive nag screens are bad enough, but the SDMB doesn’t work properly on my Tapatalk while other forums work okay.

I searched and Forum Runner isn’t in the App Store.

Also tried from their faq page and the link didn’t work.

I just installed Topic’It to try.

Huh I guess I tried a different alternative website which had nothing.

Tried Forum Talker, pretty stripped down. vBulletin has it’s own app but I haven’t tried yet. Doesn’t look too hopeful.

I’m posting using Forum Talker. Easy set up. No App login. Just enter the Name and the forum URL and save.

Topic’It was a waste of time. It only searches for forums and Straight wasn’t found. It also made me log into the App with my Google Account. I uninstalled it quickly.

I’ll use Forum Talker and see how I like it. So far this may be a Tapatalk replacement.

I haven’t found a way to edit my post in Forum Runner. Yet.

Had the same problem with Tapatalk until someone told me the secret trick.

I really like the Font on Forum Runner. Much easier to read.

Uh Forum Talker, not runner.

The forum sig can be turned off. I’m leaving it on while testing Apps.

Finally found a thread with a 2nd page. That works. This App puts a lot of posts on a page.

One draw back is the lack of buttons to go directly to the end of a thread.

We didn’t have that in Tapatalk until recently.

One bug to look out for. It lost my 10th post in this thread. The post is there, I see it in Tapatalk.

But it’s missing using FT. I see the message numbers, 8,9,11. I pressed refresh. Still missing.

Anyone else testing FT. Watch for that happening with your posts.

I miss the Tapatalk back button.

FT makes me use the Android back button. Then I need to refresh the forum list.

Still, FT shows great promise as a replacement for Tapatalk. Switching between the Apps, the font is so much better.

I hate Apps that force you to log in and that’s what Tapatalk is transitioning too.
