Are there any commercially available US DVD's that Netflix doesn't carry?

Do they carry every zombie movies?

And I, too, do not get what claim the resurrecting poster is referring to.

Here are a few that have been on my ‘saved’ list for a long, long time:

Barfly
Everyone Says I Love You
L’Atalante (I know, not U.S.)
My Winnipeg
Shoah
The Defiant Ones
Vanya on 42nd Street
Wings
mmm

If you hadn’t said the part I bolded, I could have told you the problem.

They don’t carry “Blue Chips”

I’ve been waiting for Prognosis: Negative for, like, forever.

They must have had Sleuth at one time because I saw it.

I was able to rent an old 70’s movie called Count Yorga, Vampire, but never could get the sequel, Return of Count Yorga, although it’s available for purchase on Amazon. Of course, may of their DVDs are damaged/destroyed and replacement is not likely due to low rental volume or being out of print.

I did want to watch the first season of Merlin, which was available for sale, but not for rental through Netflix. I presume it didn’t hold the rental volume potential. Still, Netflix did eventually include it in their inventory.

They don’t carry “Hello Down There” which is a [del]fairly[/del] silly pic from 1969 starring Tony Randall, Janet Leigh and Jim Backus and guest-stars Merv Griffin.

I’ve had “Regarding Henry” in my queue for a while, and I noticed a week or two ago that it’s now listed as “unavailable”, which is a bit disappointing.

There are a number of other movies that I know are available on DVD, among them “Brassed Off” and “Liliom” which have been on my “saved” list for a long time.

I have had Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, Marihuana / Assassin of Youth / Reefer Madness, Pontypool, Pootie Tang, Rockin’ Dopsie and the Zydeco Twisters: Live at the Maple Leaf, Serbian Film, The Big Bird Cage, The Short Films of David Lynch, Tom Waits: Under Review: 1971-1982, and Vampire’s Kiss on my list for a while now. All availability unknown.

There were a few others that I’ve broken down and purchased from Amazon.

The TV miniseries of “The Odyssey” with Armand Assante was put out on DVD in 2001, and is currently available (cheap!) on Amazon packaged with the “Gulliver’s Travels” miniseries. Netflix hasn’t sprung for it yet though.
