I want to restrict this to a factual question and not have it derailed by everything else going on in the Epstein saga:
Recently, a trove of 20,000 emails from Epstein’s personal email account was released. Of course, the most salacious ones are going viral right now. I’m unsure how to check on this myself right now but I was hoping someone else on the dope would know: Among those 20,000 emails are there also ones where he is conducting basic, boring tax conversations which is ostensibly what all of these rich & powerful people were using as an excuse to keep associating with him?
Prior to the email release, his public associates kept on talking about how he was knowledgeable about taxes and somehow had advice that was worth millions to tens of millions of dollars on this. I was always skeptical of this line from the beginning because like, the tax code is public and there’s thousands of people who spend their full time career working on this stuff, what exactly does it mean to be “good” at this that Epstein could have an edge on?
Especially reading the emails that have come out and the uhm, level of intellectual sophistication Epstein is displaying in his writing, this adds even more skepticism to my pile.
So I’d love to see either a) Epstein having a relatively sophisticated, business like conversation about the particulars of taxes with a high net worth individual or b) solid evidence that there are no tax conversations in this tranche of emails.
Anyone able to help with this?
