Are there any other underage dopers?

Doesn’t it annoy all you Americans that you have to be 21 before you can do anything?

A party and IM invited WOOO HOOO. Iv got a dart board and some darts who wants to play?

I’ll pass on the drinks. I like to know when I’m having a good time.

Who’s up for playing Twister? I have a mat right here!

I work at Kmart and you have to be 18 to sell alcohol, which means i have to call over someone from customer service every time someone comes in my line with a case of beer, etc. It really doesn’t annoy me much anymore with the lack of ability to do things, more of the “age is a factor of how mature you are” thing that most people pull. At least I’ve always been complimented on being an “old soul” of sorts. That and my ability to appear older to people makes life more fun.

Hey I’m 18!! Wheres da party at?? over there? whoo hoo!!

16, female… been lurking quite awhile, so feel honored i’m posting first here.
and nothing wrong with geezers. i like to pretend i’m one, most of the time.

Turn that music down, ya damn whippersnappers! <waves cane angrilly> Have some respect for us geezers, ya punks! <prepares to use truss as a defensive weapon>

<then goes off to drink, buy guns, and run for president, just because he can>

“An old man, broken with the storms of state,
Is come to lay his weary bones among ye;
Give him a little earth for charity!”
–King Henry VIII, Act 4, Scene ii

My god, I’ve tried to flirt with Welfy and Medea’s Child (who just turned 19)! I’m nearly old enough to be their dad!

My only excuse:

“You can be young once, but you can be immature forever.”

well, i am nineteen…but thats not what my id says

I’m 23 in two weeks…Guess that makes me middle-aged, eh?

AudreyK

Damn, I’m 22…I think I must be with Audrey in middle-agedom. Not “young” enough for the under-agers and not “old” enough for the “geezers.”
::comment oozing with sarcasm:: You know, I think this is the first post I have been offended by.

Im pretty sure Lanna is. Boy, be sure to check her picture, looks just like my niece.

“Why ever for?”

To make a long and painful story short, every day I get further away from who I was before a lot of unfortunate and not fun things happened to basically change how I behave . . . permanently, possibly.

Last birthday, after telling my mother several times I did not want any sort of celebration, what does she do but celebrate . . . so I tell her I was serious and make it out of the room before bursting into tears.

I do not like birthdays. I do not like to thank or be thanked. I do not like big parties or dancing or drinking . . . or, for that matter, to watch people drink or any of that other “kill yourself slowly” stuff.

ssskuggiii, Swiddles, wacky, you all behave way to mature to be in this thread, get thee into the old farts thread where you really belong. Now, this is my kind of place. Let me tell you kids a story…

Yep, still a minor. I’m 17, and going into my senior year of high school, though I’m supplementing with some college courses as well. And, that’s really not the best picture of me, so don’t hurry off to look at it…

18, 19 next month…college…do drink, and responsibly so…

If that isn’t the best one . . . damnit send a better one! 75 percent of the straight male population of the SDMB is already drooling at the sight of you, hoping you’ll have problems with your attire when we meet you IRL!

BTW I did hurry off to look at the picture. You have nothing to be ashamed of

Yeah, well, I don’t like that kind of thing either.

I hope you’ll be able to enjoy your birthday someday. I’m sure you will. Things change. Honestly, they do.

Hmmm . . . DRY, I wouldn’t let it stop you.

So, I heard about a game of pool somewhere?
(19, for the record, dubious as it may be.)

Oh, how cynical and pessimistic I could be in response to this . . . but I won’t. Right now I’m trying to prepare myself for a wedding and reception after that. I already know a good number of the people who will be there . . . I just don’t like big gatherings of people. Too impersonal.

Enjoying my birthday will come probably when I have something to celebrate. Not having been killed or killed myself yet ain’t much to celebrate . . . especially when sometimes the latter doesn’t seem a bad alternative.

Now, at some point today I’ll get out of this depressive funk and be happy
